That's the day I married my best friend. We dated for 5 years prior to getting married, so I've been with my husband for 25 years at this point. Today is our 20th wedding anniversary and, if given the choice, I would marry him all over again. We've been through a lot together; happy, sad, funny, mad, unforgettable and silly.
We thought we would never be able to have kids, tried for 5 years, nothing seemed to be wrong, just seemed to be bad timing or just not meant to be. We stopped thinking about it after Year 2. No biggie, we would travel the world, just the two of us. We couldn't imagine any better company than just the two of us.
In January 2001, I took a pregnancy test, then off to the doctor who did an ultrasound...yep, 2 1/2 months pregnant and I didn't even know it. Our son was born on September 7, 2001. Now, we can't imagine our life without him.
It appears that September is a good month for us as a couple, and, as a family.
Life is good.
I have never done any cross stitch with my husband in mind. It's always been for me or for a special friend or family member. There is a song by Death Cab for Cutie entitled, "I Will Follow You Into The Dark." The song is a love song, but it's sad. And the initial sentiment actually makes me smile because I always think, if my husband asked me to follow him somewhere, scary or unknown, my response would always be to him, "I will follow you into the dark."
With this in mind, here is my husband's anniversary present.
I stitched this with glow-in-the-dark thread. It's really cool with the lights off but I'm having a hard time getting a picture of it!
And here's the video.
Happy 20th Anniversary! You are still the one.

So nice to see an update! So, it is that time of year again...what ornament are you going to make this year for your exchange?
I hope that you have had a great summer and that your son's school year is going great!
Cheers!!
Happy Anniversary (late)!! That is such a beautiful present you made for him, and such a fun idea. :)
